Notes

Stripe these to ensure consistency in colour and texture.

It’s tricky to stripe by carrying up yarn because you have to carry it up on blackberry stitch (so you have to do it 4 stitches before the end of the row on the wrong side and it still doesn’t carry up “normally”). Happily, bb stitch hides the carry up pretty well.

I do love working with both of these yarns which are veritably indistinguishable.

FWIW, I wouldn’t recommend working with 2 yarns when making this. As it gets bigger, the “striping” becomes increasingly complicated because the waistcoat twists and turns. I like the outcome though - slightly variegated tonal grey. It’s blocking now and this seems to have stretched to the dimensions of the previous one (made in much firmer, woolen-spun) without any issues (and thankfully will probably recover to approx that size given that it’s made with both a superwash and non superwash yarn. And given that there is a small amount of nylon in the superwash.

Hilary LOVES this and it looks perfect on her. Very good for a straight frame, tall person.
