After my first attempt which was faaar to big (in spite of swatching, I think I was a bit optimistic) I cast on 260 st and used smaller needles (2.0 mm). Started colourwork and looking good so far.

I’m getting there! Surprisingly fast, considering that I’m knitting on 2.0 mm needles and in two colours but the construction allows knitting in the round until the end, which is much easier.
I decided to change the construction of the sleeves because I have some bad experiences with knitting the sleeves directly to the bodice (see my Spencer cardigan). It just get’s too heavy if you have the whole bodice hanging off your needles and you constantly have to rotate the knitting to avoid twisting the sleeve while knitting int he round.
Instead, I knitted the sleeves from the cuffs up and also starting the increase a little bit earlier to fit my arm shape better. Once I finish the bodice and cut open the steeks I will just set int he sleeves with regular seams - at least that’s the plan.

Finished! It turned out very nice although it’s a teeny tiny bit on the tight side. But it was such a nice knit and I really like the fit so it’s not a major train wreck. Little fun-fact at the side: I couldn’t find suitable buttons so I actually cut them off a pair of old pyjamas and I think it’s a great match.
