How cool is this sweater?
Of course I just love the colorful shells at the bottom, but I’m also totally smitten with the pin check slip stitch pattern, for which I reversed the colors while working the sleeves.
I also adore this construction (I’ve used before for my Callisto sweater) because it results in these beautiful directional lines at the yoke.
The yarn was sponsored by the sweet team of Harrisvilldesigns, and I must say it is utterly gorgeous, and I’m quite sure I will use it again in the future. The beautiful colors, the pleasant dry hand and the woolly woollyness make it an absolute dream to work with.
I decided I wanted two versions of this one, a more complex one, where each shell is a different color, and a simpler version, where the same color is used for each tier of shells.
My good friend wiezewoze offered to knit the simpler version, so making these was a joint project. Lot’s of e-mails, whats app messages and phonecalls were exchanged during the course of working on this project and in the end we had a lovely photoshoot.
As you can imagine, there are a lot of fond memories attached to this sweater, and that is what makes this one extra special to me.
