Notes

Took a wonderful knitting class with Mona. Learned a lot about fitting a garment to myself….its a challenge I happily take on now.
Ok I have to be insane or very brave to knit with Lace a size 4XL. Who cares? Knitting is fun!

Swatching:

  • Isager Alpaca 2 with needle 2,25mm = 40st perfect fabric, but no gauge
  • Isager Alpaca 2 with needle 2,5mm = 38 st fabric to loose
  • Isager Alpaca 2 held double with needle 2,5mm = 24st perfect fabric , but no gauge
  • Wollmeise Pure with needle 2,25mm = 36st perfect fabric, but no gauge
  • Wollmeise Pure with needle 2,5mm = 34st - fabric to loose
  • Holst Supersoft Uld with needle 2,25mm = 25 st / 40r perfect fabric, no gauge
  • Wollmeise Lace with needle 2,25mm = 30 st / 42r getting gauge but prefer the feel of Holst yarn.

So Holst yarn it is - finally.

Knitting:
Start with size XL until upper bust and then the fun of altering the cardi begins. My calc gives me a difference of 0,8333 (25st/30st). This is the factor all numbers (horizontally) will be calculated with.
