Note: WS row 15 should form double yarn overs between the repeats. As a result, WS row 16 is worked p5, k1, p4, k1, p4, k1, p4, and so on, with the k1 being worked into the first yarn over, and the p4 being worked into the second yarn over and the 3 stitches formed by the kyok.
Uses 195 beads as written.
Joining in the GG Strutting peacock CAL in August.
Also joining the Nimble Knits August ‘Challenge yourself’ KAL - I’m going to see if I can knit the entire skein. That will be a first. Eeek.
This is another take on the Midnight in Paris idea, but sort of inverted.
11/8: Yay, finally cast on!
Beads: common garden variety iridescent beetle coloured 3.6m cheapies from Spotlight. Due to a temporary fit of gradient induced insanity I started separating them into colours so that they would match the yarn. Bad idea as now I have to do them all that way - bah!
Also I missed the first row of beads because the beads were downstairs and I didn’t want to wake anybody.
19/8: And blast off! I mean cast off! Hastily blocked on the top bunk, the only place available in a house with tile floors and no rugs. Not recommended for optimal blocking (or posture!)
Will try for proper pictures tomorrow. We’re going to Vianden Castle on our way, which seems like it might be a good opportunity to whip out the camera.
This one is super, super slinky! The edging sort of shimmers and quivers the way a peacocks tail does when they settle their feathers. A fortuitous accident, but very fun to wear!
The furoshiki pic is for anyone wondering what to to with the lovely cloth their VFA came in. It’s from a great site called 1millionwomen. Reusable wrapping paper!
