Notes

I bought some natural yarn, and I tried to dye it red with Easter egg dyes. Problem is, there’s no red in those dyes. I first ended up with an almost fluorescent orange, then I added in some pink and blue…this is where I ended up. It’s not what I was going for, but I think it’s not half-bad. :) And, now I have the contrasting heels and toes I wanted. They’re not a true red, but I think I like it!

Toe up, cast on 10+10, inc to 30+30 in red, switch to Lighthouse at the start of a blue stripe. Continue increases to 36+36 (72sts total).

Work foot to 8.5” (or 86 rows, middle of a white stripe), start short-row heel in red. Work down to 10sts and back up again. Continue in Lighthouse, working 84 rounds st st (to the end of a white stripe), and start 2x2 rib for one blue stripe, one white stripe, and 2 rows blue…
