I wanted to try this in 2 colors. To make it work I had to do the following.

• hdc only, no blo or flo. this works because the V’s pop visually because of the second color.

• every other odd row i do back posts instead of front posts.

• i have been using the magic knot to join the yarn and it has been working WONDERFULLY!

Two colors:

• i use 2 skeins. i put a stitch holder into a loop holding the dropped color while i work with the current color.

• i add 1 ch st at the end of each row to anchor the last stitch.

• i carry the yarn up in a loop on my hook and sl st join it to the next row where it is needed.

so far, so good. it’s working quite beautifully. the sides looked really attractive with the way i carried the yarn. i still did the final edging just for another layer of contrast.
