I just had a sudden urge to knit Aviatix. Using the left overs from my gifting socks.
Making stripes with a modification over Svalda’s instructions:
(I’ve only included the rows that deviate from the pattern as written)
Row 1: with stripe yarn knit 5 sts; twist background yarn, with stripe yarn; continue to knit to 5 sts from the end of the row with background yarn, W&T.
Row 2: purl to 6 sts from the end of the row, slip next stitch purlwise.
Row 3: Create a loop over the needle with the background yarn. Knit the slipped background stitch and the loop together using the stripe yarn. Knit 1 st more in stripe yarn. With background yarn continue to knit to 10 sts from the end of the row, W&T.
Row 4-9: Follow pattern as written
Row 10: purl to 8 sts from the end of the row, slip next stitch purlwise.
Row 11: Create a loop over the needle with the background yarn. Knit the slipped background stitch and the loop together using the stripe yarn. Knit to the end of the row with stripe yarn.
Row 12: slip first sts, knit to the end with stripe yarn.
