At this point, I decided to frog the whole thing. As you can see from my photos thru R23 (flat and folded), this pattern is NOT going to lie flat OR square. There are too many stitches in the corners. Personally, I’ve rarely seen a square afghan or afghan block pattern that has 5 stitches in the corners. Someday, I may try to alter the pattern to only put 3 dc in each corner and see how that works out. I did try it with (1dc, tr, 1dc) in the corners but that didn’t work either. The corners pulled over. I should have tried just 3dc but now I’m so frustrated with the pattern that I just pulled it all out. Also, if you look at the closeup photo on the original pattern, it looks like, starting with R8, you should turn your work after the first and third round of each color, but this isn’t indicated in the pattern. I’ll try the flat Dragonfly Baby Blanket next. This designer has 3 dragonfly blankets. I’ve already tried 2 (the other is the C2C one) and neither came out the way I’d like a square blanket to come out -- SQUARE! I’m pretty sure the flat version will be ok since it’s only back & forth, but who knows? I guess it could skew. I’ll just wait & see.
