Ever since I finished my KAL cardi I’ve been itching to knit another sweater for myself. I have this silver-grey Cascade wool that I thought would be good for teh Rocky Coast….not so. So now I am trying this pattern.
1 Oct- swatched, works out perfectly with 4.25mm needles. Started on the collar. Got stuck on the 4th row. Something does not make sense. Took me an hour to figure out that I was actually doing the repeats in the wrong order. Hope this is not an indication of things to come.
2 Oct- Collar looks great, I’ve started on the increases. Never heard of Invisible purl increase. Googled it. Not much info out there, tried a few things, seems to work. Moving on.
UPDATE- I wrote up a tutorial on the invisible purl increase, with pics and all, check it our here:

3 Oct- I think I am doing the increases correctly, seems to look the same as in the picture. can’t decide if I like the way it looks, but I’m going to keep going.
7 Oct- Starting on the Body Increase portion of cardigan. This is actually going a lot faster then I thought!
8 Oct- Something is wrong, I have too many stitches, I must have misunderstood the instructions somehow. It’s an hour later, and I finally got it, The body increase row is only for sizes M and up, I thought I had to repeat 4 times, when in fact I only have to knit it once…I hate wasting time like this… Ripped out 8 rows, am back where I was this morning!
9 Oct- divided arms from the rest of the body, this is starting to look like a cardi. Tried putting it on…I am always paranoid it won’t fit. Even though I did knit the gauge and everything. Hard to tell.
10 Oct- Working on the Body decrease rows.
19 Oct- Body almost done. Put project aside for a bit to work on my Herringbone cowl.
23 Oct- Body finished, one sleeve as well’ just started working on the second sleeve.
27 Oct- second sleeve finished and left front band as well. Need to start thinking of buttons.
29Oct- Right front band finished, had a little trouble with the buttonholes, but weathered that storm as well.
30Oct- Wow, three needle bind-off is quite the nifty trick, looks great
31 Oct- started the bottom hem, got side-tracked by The Iron chef…
1 Nov- OMG I finished! Now on to find buttons and blocking!!!
I really like the way it looks and feels. The armpits crease a bit, but I am hoping that blocking will fix that.
