Notes

4yrs with longer length, hoping to get to at least tunic length, will keep knitting length until yarn is run out

Doing circular collar and waist band options

Knitting main body in cream mill shop and going to dip dye after garment is complete with food colouring microwave and vinegar method, thinking blue/green/yellow/green/blue. Doing hem, collar trim, waist band, and arm holes in a random navy blue 12ply from stash, will be interesting to see the final effect gained.

12/10/12 - have joined front and back and done the first 15cm of body. Stopped when my ball of yarn ran out and now going to do the collar and arm holes so that when I come back to the body I can just keep knitting until I run out of wool. Progress photo added.

21/10/12 - Finished all except the waist belt and dying it. Would look quite cool with the waist belt just in the cream and navy but I will still dye it. Decided to stop knitting length on the body at 21inches (didn’t use my final 100gram ball of wool) and then did a 2inch hem. The line seen in the middle of the body knitting is where I stopped for awhile and did the colar, should even out when I block it. Weighs 305grams not including waist belt

22/10/12 - Just finished dying, not 100% happy but still ok, added a drying photo. As well as adding a navy belt, I think I’m going to do a small embellishment on the bottom too, possibly a single daisy flower on a stalk???

25/10/12 - Finished belt and embellishments, love it now! Flower is mainly i-cord, big leaf pattern from here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/just-a-leaf , the other is a smaller single layer adaption. Decided that the seed stitch belt that I had been slogging away at slowly was too bulky looking for this garment (using 14ply wool) so wipped up an icord belt and it is just what the garment needs to look complete!

26/10/12 - Took some photos, bright sun shine is washing out some of the colours, and the modelled shots inside are on a reluctant sibling of the intended recipient, he happens to be the right size, she will grow into it by the end of next winter or the start of the one after
