I worked the cuff on size 1.5 (2.5mm) needles so it wouldn’t be too tight and worked the rest of the sock on size 1 (2.25mm) needles. I used the German Twisted Cast On.

I’m pretty sure the heel flap set up round directions in this pattern are bogus. There are stitch count typos and the row ends right in the middle of the heel stitches.

I worked the heel flap over the first 30 sts and worked it in stockinette stitch instead of heel stitch, slipping the first st of each row purlwise. I worked 24 rows for a 2” long heel flap.

I had trouble with the heel turn as written. I had 18 sts left after row 12 - not 17 - and a purl st after the p2tog on row 12. So I added two rows (15 rows total), decreasing at the end of both to 16 sts, and working the last RS row even instead of decreasing. Upon reflection, I could have decreased 2 sts on row 13 instead.

I picked up 17 sts for the gusset instead of 16 for a total of 80 sts instead of 78. I worked the gusset shaping as directed in the pattern except I ktbl the picked up sts on the first round and worked an extra decrease round to get back down to 60 sts.

I originally knit the foot for 6.75” and decreased to 24 sts for the toe instead of 16 sts as directed in pattern for a finished foot length of 8.5”.

After taking these photos I re-knit the toe because the foot was too short and the heel kept sliding down. I knit a mitten toe. I knit the foot for 7.25” and decreased every other rnd 6 times and every rnd 7 times down to 8 sts and grafted the sts together.
