I worked this hat in the round instead of flat.

My gauge was smaller than the pattern’s so I cast on 40 sts for the rib then increased to 44 sts for an 18” circumference.

I knit 2” of rib instead of seed stitch or a crochet edging.

I knit the hat 6.5” long before decreasing for the crown instead of 7”. I decreased 4 sts, worked the first 3 rounds of crown shaping, and bound off.
