Gauge in Shell Pattern: 2 pattern repeats = 3.5”, 6 rows = 3”

My gauge was large so I followed the instructions for the 33” bust with a few changes.

I skipped a yoke increase round and worked it even instead. There are 30 pattern repeats instead of 34 pattern repeats after the yoke shaping. After joining there are 20 pattern repeats in the body and 7 repeats in the sleeves.

In order to end the yoke on Pattern Round 2, I added another round to the yoke so there are 14 rounds (per the 36” size) instead of 13 (per the 33” size) and the yoke depth is 8” (per the 36” size).

I added 2” to the length, for a total length of 25”, so the vents are 6” long instead of 4”.

I added an extra stitch to the sleeve ribbing because it was too tight around my wrist otherwise.

I had two large holes at the corners of the front neck base chain that I had to sew closed with yarn tails.

This sweater would look nicer if the stitches weren’t so dense, but this was a stash busting project, so it’s all good. I bought this yarn on a whim because I love the color but since it’s sort of a weird shade I had a hard time finding the perfect project to use it for.
