I made this for the first birthday of a little girl with a giant dog.

This worked up very quickly. The blanket took less than an hour to crochet.

I worked the blanket as directed for the Kitty pattern because I didn’t have brown variegated yarn in my stash.

My Head stitches are a little loose and you can see the stuffing through the stitches. So I worked the arms at a tighter gauge, but had to make some changes to keep the original proportions.

Arms:
-increased to 18 sts
-worked 3 rounds even before decreasing
-decreased to 12 sts
-worked 5 rounds even

I wasn’t sure how to deal with the ends of the yarn used to embroider the face. I just kind of stuck my needle into the stuffing.

Measurements:

• Head: 9.5” circumference, 5” tall
• Arms: 2.5” long
• Eyepatch: 1” diameter
• Ears: 2.25” long, 1” wide
