I’ve been meaning to remake these socks for sometime. I am not following the original pattern, although I do link since it was the inspiration. No intarsia in the round, no multiple sizes of needles. I am using the same yarns in the same colors as the first attempt.
I’m using my usual toe-up formula with short row heels. I charted the mosaic pattern. The original in Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns was written.

Crochet chain provisional cast on 36 stitches (72 total) in charcoal, joined & knit 2 rows of indigo and began the pattern.

These got put aside for holiday knitting. I finished the foot and short row heel.

Out of hibernation.
Finished first sock and will start the second tomorrow.

Finished the second sock. I’ll weave in all of the ends tomorrow morning, wash & block, and post some more photos.

The mosaic pattern is from Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara Walker. Page 67 fretted mosaic, 6 stitch 20 row repeat.
