i wanted to send some warmth to my femme witch buddy zena in vancouver, so i asked her for her favourite colour. the conversation that ensued could only happen between femmes. many follow up questions were necessary. to look at or to wear? in what season? as a main colour or accent? the culmination of the discussion was the identification of the ideal colour for a knitted winter accessory (though i was as vague as i could be about why i was asking)- pantone shade 214C.
I started with stellaria, and realized a third of the way into the chart that I’d made a fatal counting error and had to rip it. the gauge was wrong for the yarn anyways- so I’m trying out wheelwright and I like it so much better already.
i didn’t love the smaller shapes on the edges of the chart, so im leaving those out and having plain stockinette fields between the growing diamonds. i dig it.
somehow i managed to lose the second skein of this yarn on my trip to montreal, so if it doesnt turn up in the homes of my friends by the time i finish the first ball, i guess i’ll buy another one? grr.
I bought another one. I release you to the world, lost skein. go forth and make someone warm and happy.
I am a mess with a crochet hook, so I used the looped edging I learned making three Damson shawls.
