1/4 Knitting complete, second mitt blocking. Ended up knitting cuff, thumb and top edge with US 1 and the stockinette on the body of the mitt with US 0 hoping to get a closer fit. As this was a last minute project, I swapped out the left twists for right twists throughout (my RT are MUCH faster than my LT). I also did a half twisted rib (work only knit stitches through the back loop - purl regular) at the wrist instead of plain rib as I liked the look of it better.
1/3 Started over on size US 0, but though I hadn’t finished the thumb on the first mitt I went ahead and blocked it to see how it might affect the overall fit. It did help a bit as I blocked it out longer, but it’s still not tight on me and would need to be smaller to fit my SIL properly.
1/2 Decided to make some mitts to go with the birthday scarf I made for my SIL. This pattern is so pretty and I’m loving the color of this yarn…These are definitely going to need a good blocking. Despite checking my gauge and going down 1/2 needle size I am finding that these are a bit roomy in the wrist and I’m pretty sure that my SIL has smaller hands than I do. I may be starting over with a size 0 needle….
