Notes

I absolutely love this project! Beautiful design & perfect fit. What an awesome pattern - thank you so much Melanie for letting me test this pattern! Couldn’t be happier with my sweater!

6/13 Photos taken - they are not as clear as I would like and the color is a bit wonky - actual color is a bit less pink and darker. It was really too early to take them outside but it promises to be over 100 today, so better to take them early!
6/12 The sweater is dry and the buttons have been sewn on.
6/10 Knitting complete! Soaking, blocking and final pictures still to come.
6/9 One sleeve down, one to go!
6/6 Body complete, will start on sleeves tomorrow, hope to be finished in a few days.
6/3 Waist decreases complete - will start on increases tonight - hope to be done with the body in a couple of days.
5/31 Yoke complete - ready to separate sleeves and body tomorrow.
5/26 Can’t wait to start on this test knit for Mellimi - such a lovely pattern!

Mods:
~ As I have a very long waist I had to decide between making the sweater 2” longer or shorter. I chose to shorten it by about 1.75” as that was a better length for me.
~As the overall length was shortened, I preferred to do 3/4 length sleeves as well.
~ To keep the button opening in proportion it is an inch or so shorter than specified in the pattern, and has 5 buttons/buttonholes rather than six - with the final one in the bottom band rather than above it.

I really like the feel and look of this yarn so far, it is so much like Malabrigo Sock, though it has a resilience to it that Sock doesn’t. I’m not as happy with the colorway as I wanted to be. I LOVE the color tones, but my past experience with Madelinetosh yarns had me expecting much shorter color changes and an overall more blended look, but this is turning out to be somewhat streaky, more like Malabrigo yarns usually are. Also, as I did expect, the skeins were quite different from one another so blending them is proving to be challenging, I’ve had to do more of a random blending rather than every two rows to avoid a striped effect - and still it is much stripier than I had hoped it would be.
