Notes

I wanted to use up the yarn I had leftover from my daughter’s hat & headwrap, and it was just enough to make a cowl. I decided to use the mosaic stitch pattern from the Frieze shawl I’ve been working on and just added some ribbing and buttons. A very fast project.

Knit flat.
c/o 104 sts with K2, P2 long tail cast-on.
2x2 rib for 8 rows
1.25 repeats (50 rows) of Frieze stitch pattern (the repeating portions in parenthesis for each row)
2x2 rib for 8 rows - bind off in pattern.

Pick up 52, 54 or 56 stitches (I did 56 but it might have been better with fewer) along one side of cowl and do 8 rows of 2x2 rib - bind off. Use yarn ends to seam into a tube leaving the side ribbed edge free. Tack ribbed edge down with decorative buttons.
