LOVE this pattern, it is so easy to follow and is super pleasureable to knit. It’s very hard to see the buttons well in the photos since they reflect the light so readily. They are made of shell and have the tones of the yarn color used for the yoke in them.
Absolutely love this yarn, it’s incredibly squishy, smooth and bouncy - just lovely.
4/22 Knitting finished - soaked and blocking.
4/21 One sleeve completed, one to go. Despite probably having enough yarn to make long sleeves I decided to go with the 3/4 length specified in the pattern as it seemed it would look and function better.
4/19 body finished, I’ve decided to work the button bands before beginning the sleeves so that I can use as much yarn as I have left on the sleeves and not be guessing how much I need to leave. If possible I may do a full long sleeve.
4/16 yoke completed, sleeves and body divided.
Colors look more grey/tan/beige in the photo but actual colors of the Doe Eyes are more grey/blush. Doe Eyes for lace and upper yoke, Tracery for body and sleeves. Colors most accurate in photos of cardigan laying flat.
After wearing this a few times I’m realizing that when blocking it’s best not to block out the lace section, but rather allow it to dry naturally. I’m finding that my lace section is looser than when I first put it on and I think when I give it a wash I won’t block that section out next time.
Final Blocked Measurements:
gauge: 20 stitches x 24 rows = 4”
15” length from underarm
22” length from shoulder
33.5” chest measurement laying flat (bust measurement 34.5”). 1” negative ease.
