Notes

9/26 Knitting and weaving in ends complete. Currently soaking and will be blocking within the hour!
9/25 All but the sleeve cuffs finished. Hoping to be blocking by tomorrow.
9/19 Getting close to halfway done, working on the body and am about 6” from starting the hem ribbing. I will be making this shorter than called for in the pattern, as the pattern length is not a flattering length for me.
9/15 After stepping back from this project for a couple of weeks to work on another, I decided to go ahead and completely frog it (except for the lace inserts!) and start over. I’ve now completed the back of the sleeves and will start on the right front tomorrow. I wanted to make sure it fits properly and that I don’t have to find someone smaller to give it to. This time I’ve highlighted the medium instructions on my pattern sheets!
8/27 Grafting complete on both sleeves. The sleeves are a touch snug, but I expect that washing and blocking will add a bit of ease, as it usually does…..I just realized that in my haste to get started on the cardi I didn’t highlight my size in the instructions, and I’ve been knitting the size small instead of the M…no wonder the sleeve is snug. Hopefully this will block out to a comfortable size!
8/24 Both lace inserts completed and blocking.
8/23 First lace insert completed. Hope to finish the second by tomorrow night and the entire cardigan by the 31st.
8/4 The yarn for the lace has arrived! And it’s everything I expected it to be - happy dance! The photo of the yarn doesn’t quite capture the colors perfectly - the Plucky is less purple and more mauve and the TML is less pastel and more grey/mauve. Will be starting this tonight. :0)

Took advantage of the fact that my husband was willing to play photographer as soon as this was dry. Haven’t done the buttons yet, but I’m calling it done.

I’ve made my cardigan shorter and have also made all ribbed edges wider. I used mock rib (Row 1 (WS): k1, p1. Row 2 (RS): knit) instead of traditional 1X1 as it seemed a bit more feminine to me. I also only did the first three increases on the fronts. Going to add buttons as I like the look better, though as the fronts (purposefully) don’t meet it won’t be buttoned. I usually wear my button up cardigans open, but I like the look of buttons.
