My first attempt at designing an OVAL doily. One of my testers suggested I try doing an oval or rectangle. I don’t like filet crochet, so I’m not going to do a rectangle just yet, but I thought I’d try my hand at oval. I actually have never even crocheted an oval doily. Can’t be that difficult to design, right? Right?!

I’m naming this one “Marion” which is a name I’ve had on my list for a very, very long time. Marion is my husband’s grandmother, who passed away this past year from brain cancer. She was like my own grandmother, not only because I never knew my own, but because she and I were a lot a like and even in the short 6 years that I knew her, I knew her well. She was also the only person in my circle of family and friends that crocheted.

2016-11-17 = Rounds 11-25.

2016-11-18 = Rounds 26-27.

Oh goodness, I took a huge break. But it was Thanksgiving!

2016-11-29 = Rounds 28-30.

2016-11-30 = Rounds 31-33.

2016-12-01 = Rounds 34-36.

So… this is an unbearable pain in the ass to write up.
