Notes

This is a great pattern! Well written and easy to follow.

My yarn is bulky, not superbulky. But DD chose it. It looks more grey with Lavender undertones.

1” = 3.5 st
32” (14/16) = 111 st ( using row length for S/M)

Many knitters have found this too wide in stated size, I tend to loosen my gauge on continuous SS; so I will knit one size smaller for my slender daughter.

Mods for bulky yarn

2 extra ribbing rows before SS
7 stitches for ribbing at beginning and end of row
Button holes every 7th row instead of every 5th row
Button holes over 5 st = 1 more slip stitch with pass second stitch over / cable cast on 4 st

love the buttonholes!

First stitch every row: KTBL
Last stitch every row: slip stitch purl wise with yarn in front

1 skein = 7.5 inches from start. Width = 31”

Neck opening:
K37 , K38 and place these stitches on a holder, K37
Do 4 rows of pattern over last 37 stitches ending Row 1 of pattern. Break yarn
Join yarn to first 37 stitches, do 4 rows pattern ending with row 1 of pattern.

K across first 37 stitches. Provisional Cast On 38 stitches. K remaining 37 stitches. Continue in pattern too desired length.

YEAH!!! I am finally done with Miles of SS!

German Short rows to add a curve to the back (12 stitch intervals) SS 2 rows to pick up stitches
German Short rows at 16st then 12st then 8st
SS 2 rows to pick up stitches.

To make it again in Aran/bulky yarn:
I would space the buttonholes more - say every 2” instead if counting rows.
I would make the beginning and ending rib pattern 9 rows instead of seven.

matching fingerless arm warmers

Cast on 36 stitches in round
3” rib pattern
6” knit
2” rib pattern. In order to cinch the wrist, I did half the stitches ( on the wrist side) as K1P1 ribbing on all rows
2 rows knit

On the next row, turn work for WS
S2 WYIF, purl to last 2 stitches, S2 WYIF. Pull the slipped stitches tight. Turn
Knit across

Continue these 2 rows until thumb opening is large enough

Next row (RS) knit across, rejoining to work in round for 4 rows.
1” rib pattern, working K1P1 on half the stitches every row (same as wrist)
Bind off in pattern.
