29Aug2011:
I managed a medium, even though my stash yardage was for the small. You too can make this out of Kidsilk Haze remnants! I’ve put very accurate yardage for you to know how much it took.
I wanted to use the very last of my yarn (officially stash busted, thank you) so I did a mirror image of the edge stitch for chevrons. I have to say I really prefer it, the original edge is too short and a little jarring to the eye.
It sparkles! Isn’t that all anyone really needs?
02Aug2011: First clue tips:
1) Weave your ends in now, my pretties, hello intarsia!
2) When you M1 between color B and color C, make sure to pick up the color B strand that is between and not C, to avoid seeing a blip of the opposite color in your increase.
3) My yarn-overs for color C were way bigger than my yarn-overs for color B. Why? Because on the WS, the color C yarn-over transition to purl turns 1/2 turn more than the yarn-over transidtion to knit (done with color B at the end of the row). I spent a lot of time annoyed at this. I decided to make the YO transition to purl short, but that makes it challenging to work on the other side, and you have to knit in the back of the stitch. But, holes are equal! Alternatively, you can yarn-over 1/2 turn more in the knit transition and have really big holes. I personally wasn’t liking it.
The kidsilk night is, of course, lovely, but I only have enough for the small, and the thinness of the yarn will make it even smaller. Oh well! I REFUSE TO BUY YARN FOR THIS.
