31March2013: A fun pattern! I was so sick of magic looping sleeves that I bought some 12cm Addi Turbos for this project. I LOVE THEM, so fast! The needle is bent, because it has to be to accomodate the circumference. At first it feels awkward, but there is a short learning curve and NEVER any folds or ladders. The spiral sleeve stitch pattern was challenging at this length and slowed me down considerably, but beware, it is a slow stitch pattern anyway and you will wish it would finish quicker. ;)
Not a bad fit, especially at the top! However, I don’t have very full hips, and should have either 1) cropped the cardi, 2) stopped increasing, or 3) decreased 15% of stitches before the ribbing. I may have to re-visit this guy, because it is quite loose and ruffly at the bottom and I keep trying to adjust it (always a bad sign).
I have 6 buttons instead of 4.
Variegated yarn? Meh. Not again, if I can help listening to the voices. I alternated skeins for the body, but then couldn’t stand it (I despise how it never looks right at the join, and have tried many a method) and just knit the sleeves without alternating. The Tosh Sport is rather rough on the hands while knitting, and even rough on the skin while wearing. I think it is because of the tight spin and believe it will soften with time. Also, the yarn is quite heavy and drape-y, totally unexpected for wool. It’s almost a bit like cotton!
09March2013: You may think it is really small while you are knitting it, but don’t worry, it stretches quite a bit!
I’m not a variegated yarn fan, and yet here this is, in my stash. (tiny voices made me do it!!). Please tell me this pattern is simple enough for this crazy colorway.
