A test knit for Faina (a.k.a. 2PlyProductions)!

16Feb2013: This took some major reworking to fit my upper body. Yes, I knit the entire torso twice. I avoided the V-neck steek the second time around so that I could really fit it well. This means I had to strand on the purl side for quite a bit, and this does change your gauge. Unless you’re a knitting machine, which I am not.

The V-neck should be much lower, but I had to shorte, the number of torso rows by quite a bit, a I didn’t want to ruin the gorgeous motif.

I spent close to 150 hours working on this, I am sure. We are working on the pattern to improve the fit, so don’t worry about that.

Even with my major changes in the charts, I still had to sew the inside of the shoulder/sleeve to avoid extra fabric. I tucked it inside, so it makes a bit of a shoulder pad.

I made double-long cuffs, which I keep folded for warmth. One of the pictures shows them unfolded. I am considering making a thumb hole!

10Nov2012: This is beautiful and I am excited to be working on it. And I am busting through 5 year old Rhinebeck stash, woohoo!

I am doing some major Frankesteining for the sleeves, as they are too short and too wide for me.

1. Provisional cast-on in the solid MC rows above the cuff.
2. Increase every 6 rows (less often).
3. Add an entire 2 snowflake repeat.
4. End at 32” size width.
5. Go back to 36” length armscye.
