I started this desperately, because I had left my other project in the Amsterdam airport! De Afstap came to the rescue (with 4.95 Euro Addis!!! I pay 27 bucks in Canada!!!!!!!).

But I was stupid and only bought a US4. And the gauge is way too small. So, I did a medium, but I should have done a large, my goodness, this sweater shows all the… uh… bumps.

The yarn seems amazing, but it looks like trash after only a few wears. Appropriately discontinued. =( It’s so elastic and soft and clingy, it’s too bad. The grey had tons of inconsistencies and blebs of fiber to pull out at great risk to the yarn’s integrity. I’ll have to make this again with something else, damn!

I did the folded seams my way -- which is to decrease 15% of stitches 2 rows after the purl fold-over row. This gets rid of any possible flaring.

I was getting pulling while bringing yarn up through the stripes, so I cut for every color. I really regret that now. The bulkiness of the weaving in (not to mention the weaving in process on this many ends) is no better than the pulling of the yarn downwards.

I messed up the contiguous shoulders I believe, by doing mirrored M1L and M1R. It’s really really tight and almost gathered. This makes the shoulder way too high for me, approaching the neck. And the elasticity of the yarn doesn’t help it drape down! All in all, bad choices for this sweater to look like the beautiful pattern intended. BUT, its still a wonderful sweater, in its own misfit right.
