I did not have enough of this yarn for even the non-slouch version of the hat in size medium (I guess my head is pretty big, must be all those big ideas). So for the last 1/3 of the hat I alternated rows with a very similar (yet slightly variegated) red yarn. I used a size 9 needle since I didn’t have a 16” size 10 on hand, so the hat is a tight squeeze. Had to redo the crown 3 times, final adjustment was adding 6 more knit rows after the last pleat.
