Notes

Using leftover yarn from the Whitefish Slouch hat, I knit this at Many Glacier in Babb, MT. I just reversed the order of colors-pink for the ribbed brim, and platinum for the crown. The winds were so gusty there, I was glad to have it!

7/22/15 My husband & I just returned home from an overnight stay at Many Glacier. Yesterday afternoon we were leaving the hotel for a hike and noticed big orange plumes of smoke in the sky over the mountain ridge. It’s very windy at Many and we were wondering if we’d be called to evacuate, then it began to rain. Today we were planning on driving back home via Going-to-the- Sun road but it was closed at St. Mary’s, and we were diverted to making the loop through East Glacier. It’s still burning. My daughter is a firefighter, and is engineering the wildland fire truck & digging trenches at the Reynolds Creek Fire today.
