Totally inspired by all the gnomes I’ve made from ImaginedLandscapes patterns. I used all that experience of knitting those gnomes to construct this one.

Knitted top down, starting with 2-stitch icord. Gradually increase stitches one at a time until there are about 15 st in round, then increase 2 stitches. 4 or 5 rnds even, Then 3 stitches increase. Continue with 3 stitch increase round every 5th rnd until desired circumference.

Brim of hat: increase (k2, kfb) around. K 2 rnds. Last round is (yo, k2tog) around. Turn work and bind off from wrong side.
