MODIFICATIONS: Shawl Calculator showed I would not have enough yarn to work as written. I wanted the lacy finish, so I went from the end of chart 3 to the beaded section of the alternate chart D. Finished with 12 grams of yarn left. I used size 6, silver-lined clear black glass beads.

Measures 68” tip to tip, 22” depth center back.

I started over using Malabrigo sock yarn today, jan. 12. It is lovely.

Today is the 9th and I frogged the Araucania. It is lovely, it knits like a dream, I love the colors. Now for the dreaded ‘but:’ the lace didn’t show up. I refuse to put a lot of work into a project that won’t show it off. I’ll have to find another yarn and save this one for a shawl that it will do proud. It just isn’t a match.

I’m using a smaller needle because I using fingering yarn.
