I’m loving this striped ribbing…….can’t wait to get to the body of this - lovely yarn - great shades.
Knitting it in the round to the armholes - then back and forth - the back is almost done -- then just the front from the armholes up - with a v neck - should go fast LOL!
Using the original shades EXCEPT substituted Gilt for the Camel - Camel was just too cold for me LOL!!!
Nov. 15 - I’ve finished the back - did short row shaping for the angled shoulder line -- now all I have to do is the front - with that V neckline it shouldn’t take long.
Nov 30 - front is done - shoulder seams done with 3-needle bind off - and all of the ends have been taken care of -- now just to do the neckline and armhole finishing, wash and block!
Dec. 3 - stayed up late finishing all the ends - I have knit the neck edge and one armhole edge.
Dec. 4 - finished the other armhole edge, washed and after rolling it in a towel and squishing out all of the excess water - hung it on my wooly board to dry. A light press with the iron and I’m done.
I am rating this as “Difficult” only because 3 colours per row are a bit crazy -- especially the plaid sections. Doing it in the round helped -- I can’t imagine doing this flat and then seaming it - but each to their own.
I LOVE this sweater - so unorthodox for me - who likes my colourful sweaters to have motifs that line up neatly, row by row, exactly even…….it’s been a real eye opener for me.
September 27 - 2012! I’ve had this sweater almost two years now and I’ve worn it probably twice…….because I was a total idiot and made the front V deeper than the pattern called for - so bottom line is I never wear it because I don’t like how the front sits - over a t-shirt it is just too deep and shows too much of the t-shirt and looks totally odd - sooooooo, I AM GOING TO rip this baby apart and redo the front.
I may be crazy in a little while!
Oct. 14, 2012 - done! So much better….I wore it out and just love it! I am so glad I took the time to go back and fix this.
Nov 2, 2012 - got the hubby to take a new photo today - not a huge change, but a change that makes this so much more wearable for me.
I LOVE THIS SWEATER!
