Seeing the cover of Rowan 42, and a sale of Rowan Kidsilk Haze started this whole thing…..then I bought more…..and I just kept knitting.

I was impressed by the cover of Rowan 42 - the Earth Stripe Wrap and Tunic - and that gave me the idea to knit two strands of Kidsilk Haze together….so I cast on and started knitting while on Vacation in the UK.

I originally intended to knit a big scarf ? It seemed too luscious to just be a scarf and my knit buddies were encouraging some kind of garment.

So I’m at a workshop on Colour with Brandon Mably and Kaffe Fassett (Brandon did the workshop, but Kaffe was hanging around)……and one of the display sweaters sent by Rowan for the workshop was Earth Stripe Tunic -- which is the sweater/scarf from Rowan that started this whole thing……..so I’ve got an idea now.

Jan 2011 - I can’t believe how long this has been hybernating -- but I have a goal to finish this now -- I just have to figure out a few final touches…….

Feb 8 2011 - just cast off the neckline - so it’s done!
