There was a thistle shawl pattern available for a short time which some people in the Stranded group knit, but I have no need for any more shawls at this time…

The chart is amazing so I made it into a hat by casting on 160st (five chart repeats), making the first tier of thistles complete and working double decreases between the flowerheads of the second tier. This worked in a DK weight yarn made a good size hat. My yarn begame floppier in blocking so a very slight felting gave it its body back, and I prefer a warm hat for cycling.
