9/18 Blocking!!! YAY. I hate it less again. ;) It’s the hours-long bind-off that kills me. However, laceweight yarn is not the right choice; the aggressive blocking needed for the short-row feather tips is too hard on it and the shapes are distorted. But, it’s fine for a shawl for me, which is what this was intended to be. The colour changes ended up lovely and the blend of merino, mohair, and cashmere makes the feel luxurious. It’s also plenty big, probably half again the size of Aloft, with wider wings too, which post-blocking relax to the approximate part-crescent-part-triangle shape I wanted. Now to finish writing up the pattern so I can pitch it to testers!

9/17 50% through the BO; has taken over two hours so far. Hating it. This probably means it’s going well. It’s certainly soft, and lovely greys. Probably better in slightly heavier yarn though.

9/10 Knitted the two penultimate rows (took two hours). Will start the BO tomorrow; tonight, work on writing the pattern. Will be so so excited to get this into testing. Soon!

7/8 Rows. So. Dang. Long.

6/30 Still going, on and off with other projects; I try to do at least a few rows a day. Into the final chart now and fully into the white yarns. Looking good.

5/29 Don’t like the yarns held together. Frogging and going to single-strand, skipping the black stage, as it’s a bit heavier weight.

The big sister of Aloft - a greyer version with a bigger wingspan in a slightly wider/more crescent shape, for me. These size instructions will be included in the final pattern.
