November - Totally love the hints of this shawl on Instagram and when the call for testers went out I couldn’t resist. The yarn was originally intended for a Colour Affection shawl but I lost momentum. And as I’m on a major stashbusting spree it seemed fate that this was the exact yarn I needed to test this shawl! SO different from the sample but I think it will be pretty?

Colour A - Blue/Submarine
Colour B - Pink/Watermelon
Colour C - Purple/Midnight Aubergine

December 8 - home w sick boys. Lots of knitting and Doctor Who :) Finding gauge a little loose on the 4mm needles so switched to 3.75, feels a little better. Also, shorter cable on the circular needle so maybe that’s helping too?

December 13 - finished panels 1&2, the slip stitch squares (2/8). If I were to knit this shawl again I would use a provisional cast-on for these sections - less to pick up later on.

December 18 - finished panel 3/8, sticking with my 3.75mm needles. Feel like I should block? Need to pick up 81 st on a curly edge. Need coffee first :) Sewed in all ends last night. They were driving me cuckoo.

December 19 - finished panel 4/8, watched all 20 podcasts by Susan B Anderson!
December 23 - finished panel 5/8 somewhere in the middle of Christmas shopping, baking, and …well, there would have been wrapping but I ran out of paper!
December 26 - finished 6/8, tomorrow I put on my big girl pants and pick up the 391 stitches for the border…. maybe I’ll finish this by New Years??
December 29 - finished 7/8, loooooong rows of 400+ stitches. And then an icord bind-off. Love the look of the icord, not worlds biggest fan of knitting it!
December 30 - Done! Now I just need the sky to clear up a little so I can take some pictures :)

A nice, different, knit and a very easy to follow pattern. Not sure I’m thrilled with my colour choice - would have preferred a little more contrast than the blue and purple, but still pretty.
