Notes

I was at the local craft Fair with our U-Spin guild. And I saw Cookie’s yarn - hand span from her Jacob sheep.
She used her bulky Babе to spin it.

The yarn was clearly speaking to me!
It is so warm, fuzzy and cushie! Love that it has a slight smell of sheepie.
I just got a great inspiration for it.
I saw a vest in my head…

Cookie gave me the yarn and said - Go for it, girl!

So, here we go.
I got this huge Lion
Brand needles and started to play with it. Tried out a couple of patterns… Hm….
They didn’t work quite well with this yarn.

I made my own vest sketch, based on the tension gauge swatch.
The vest is seamless, knitted from down up.

  • Casted on 53 sts
  • made a border
  • shaped armholes
  • made decreases for the V-neck
  • grafted shoulder seams
  • attached the button and the loop

And the vest was born.
Very easy, very fast. I knitted it up in one day.

Then, of course, I could not find a big button!
I made one up with FIMO polymer clay.

Finished the vest today and pretty happy with it look and shape.

Oh, yes, and with it warmness!

By the way - Cookie has more of this yarn for sale - here is her e-mail

In my blog I also gave some details on the vest.

По-русски я описала процесс у себя в блоге.

Just got newsletter from Tahki Stacy yarn. Just take a look! I am excited! It means “this” yarn is in style now!
