Fantastic cable & lace cardigan test knit for woodhouseknits. Very grateful for the opportunity to test knit this beautiful design.
12-Dec-14: Gauge swatch complete on size 6 Karbonz needles. Washed & Blocked. Perfect gauge.
13-Dec-14: Pattern received & cast on.
18-Dec-14: Finished raglan increases - body & sleeve split.
27-Dec-14: Body hip increases done.
01-Jan-15: Started the first sleeve! I decided I wanted full long sleeves so I worked to 11” according to pattern and then worked 4 pairs of decreases every 6th row until 13.5” - now at 71 sts. Worked to full length of 16.5” then worked the final decreases by k2tog, k1, across row to end with 48 sts. Lastly, worked the i-cord cuff as per pattern.
07-Jan-15: Started second sleeve.
09-Jan-15: FINISHED knitting!
11-Jan-15: Blocked & photographed. Will want to block the back slightly longer than the front accomodate my sloping shoulders which always make my sweaters ride up. Also, note, need a larger diameter button to keep the front band from rolling over the button and hiding it.
NOTE: Reverse single crochet neckline (in every 2 or 3 stitch) with a second single crochet row (every 3rd stitch) to tighten up the neckline. Almost happy with the neckline but may need to redo and loosen up the tightness on the two front bands as these curl slightly. Blocking may help but will wait to see fit after sleeves are done.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: Blocking fixed all the rolling problems with the i-cord bind off at the hem and the neckline.
EDIT: 14-Jan-15: I placed buttons on the right front and used the left front lace pattern as button holes to overlap the right.
