The Selene yarn is wonderful to work with, very crisp, with great stitch definition even in garter stitch.

The designer recommends blocking on a balloon. This was the most difficult part of the project--not the blocking per se, but finding a balloon in my town. I couldn’t bring myself to order 100 balloons (the smallest quantity available)from Amazon. Grocery store had zero balloons. Party store only had expensive helium balloons which they blew up on the spot. CVS had two kinds of balloons: long skinny ones to make animals and tiny “self-sealing water balloons.” I caved when I hit the pricy toy store in town and bought a packet of five LED light up marbleized balloons which cost more than I wanted, but I just wanted to block the darn thing, although afterward I realized I could have just stuffed it with bunched up plastic bags.
