Notes

A pair of Amazing Siberian Slippers for my Amazing Mom.
I think I am addicted to these slippers in the big way. I keep finding more and more people for whom I want to knit them. Possibly it is the sheep amazement of seeing a piece of flat knitting morph into a 3D slipper without any seams at all. Or it can be that the pattern engages the brain just so. I can split my attention and do other things (like check homework) while I knit, but it is not boringly monotonous.
I have made two modifications this time.
My Mom’s legs swell a bit, so, to make the cuff not binding
I have knit the cuff in the round and turned it down. I have also altered the sole slightly, decreasing 2 stitches (1 on each side) right before starting making the heel to make it fit better. The sole was knit with the yarn doubled, this made the knitting harder and the gauge is very tight, but the sole feels incredibly cushy.
