First step is spinning the wool for this blanket. I’m spinning superwash merino mill ends (purchased at theblacklamb.ca) in various colours, going for dk to worsted weight yarn, thick and thin.

I’m really excited about this!

-1.5 skeins (approx 300 metres) light pink (pinkfrost)
-1 skein (approx 150 metres) henna red/brown, 2nd 141 m.
-1 skein (approx 200 metres) wine red, 2nd 140 m
-1 skein (approx 140 metres) deep earth brown

-1 skein (approx 180 metres) light green
-1 skein (approx 135 metres) grass green
-1 skein (approx 160 metres) dark olive green
-1 skein (approx 150 metres) deepest green

-1 skein (approx 126 metres) sky blue, 2nd 90 m
-1 skein (approx 160 metres) royal blue, 2nd 88 m

-1 skein (approx 145 metres) lightest lilac
-1 skein (approx 100 metres) purple mist
-1 skein (approx 140 metres) amethyst, 2nd 98 m
-1 skein (approx 140 metres) fuchsia

-1 skein (approx 140 metres) coral, 2nd skein (218 metres)
-1 skein (approx 150 metres) light coral

Feb 11
- All done spinning! I’ve got 16 different colours in approx dk/worsted weight. I have to wash and dry some of the skeins and wind the others into balls yet but the knitting is about to begin!

Feb 24
-The blanket it growing…BUT…I need more wool! I’m beginning to spin more in various colours, as I run out.

March 11
-working on the blanket after a short Camp Shirt break. Will be making shells and spinning the different colours as I run out.

March 13
-I’m continuing to work on the ‘second spin’ of each colour and have 9 colours to go!

June 23
-I’m ready to get back to this. As a ‘night time’ project at least.
