5/16 Bought our custom patterns today at Monarch Yarns in Pacific Grove.

5/21 My yarn arrived today!

5/24 Started knitting today! Finished the ribbing and one repeat of cables. The yarn must have lanolin in it since it feels oily. Bought a cute bag at the thrift store today to hold the project.

6/3 Finished back this morning.

6/15 Finished right front. Washed and blocked.

6/29 Finished left front. On to the sleeves!

7/5 Finished first sleeve.

7/11 Finished second sleeve. All pieces are blocked. Ready to sew them together and start band. Still need to find buttons. I bought an extra skein of yarn and think I may have enough to make a hat. Excited!

7/15 Finished sewing pieces together and ready to pick up for the band. Worried the front is going to gap (see pic) but the band is 1 1/2” wide so maybe this will be enough extra fabric. Two shops so far and no suitable buttons. Heard of a place on Capitol Hill to check out. Now I need to take the sweater off because it is 88 degrees today!

7/17 Found my buttons at Nancy’s Sewing Box on Queen Anne Hill. Great store!

7/26 Finished! I like the fit of the sweater and really like the set in sleeves. It really does seem to fit better with this technique. Amy Herzog has a great system for fitting sweaters.

This is personal taste but I would prefer a bit more fabric over the bust. I know that the style today is to have clothing fit snugly, but I don’t like this look. Also, the button holes are hard to find in the band…another reason not to button it.

Overall, this is a great pattern. Thank you Amy Herzog!

Note: It is really hard to get an picture with the accurate color. The closest is the picture of me wearing the sweater in its almost done state. In the button pictures the color is too light and pink.
