Notes

Made the first slipper in one day. Some people say this is a fiddly pattern, but I don’t think it’s that bad. I can’t think of a better way they could have been constructed. If you dislike picking up stitches or seaming though, this might not be the pattern for you.

There is a seam that runs around the sole of the foot (not really a seam, but a ridge from picking up stitches) that some people might find uncomfortable. I noticed it the first few minutes I was wearing the slipper but then my foot got used to it and I didn’t even really notice.

I think these are sized pretty small. I wear shoe size 7.5 and these fit me very snugly. If you have bigger feet at all I would consider going up a size or using bigger needles and yarn. On size 6 needles my fabric is not super dense, but it is definitely sufficient for around-the-house slippers.

After I finish the other slipper I want to get some craft paint and put some sort of design on the bottom as right now I can foresee sliding around on my linoleum kitchen floor.

Re: the yarn, it is a pretty comfy wool. I know a lot of people compare it to Cascade 220, but it’s a lot more fuzzy than Cascade in my opinion. The cables aren’t as obscure as they are in the picture (that’s a product of flash plus the fluorescent lighting in my apartment) but the yarn definitely does not have the crisp stitch definition that Cascade 220 does.

These definitely did not take 2 full skeins of yarn, i only broke into the second skein for the top of the second slipper. maybe another 30 yards…
