Testing this for Irina. The pattern is all chart, there is very little written instruction.

The instructions say to slip all stitches purlwise with yarn in front. I slipped stitches on the right-side rows purlwise with yarn in back and stitches on the wrong-side rows purlwise with yarn in back. This gave a cleaner edge than slipping all with yarn in front.

There were several problems with the test version of the pattern, but Stuckkurs.ch seems to have fixed them. This blocked out pretty big, 4 feet from point to wing tip and about 2.5 feet across the widest part. The knitting only took about 2 days.

The pattern as written does not have the pointy border around the outside, it just has a slipped-stitch edge. I was worried about it curling so I crocheted the pointy border on. I used the triangular edging from this page. I didn’t do any math before hand to see if it would, I just went for it and it worked out in the end.
