Notes

As everyone says, this pattern makes a very large bag. Great for carrying boxes of cereal, crackers, fresh veggies, bread, but I wouldn’t load it up with canned foods, bulk baking supplies, or other heavy things. It would be impossible to haul and the bag would become extremely stretched out.

This set is for my mother’s birthday present. She uses the reusable bags from the grocery store, but their quality is so bad that they wear out quickly. Hopefully these will be longer lasting.

The yarn is very tightly spun which makes it nice and sturdy and give it amazing stich definition. It does have all the negative qualities of cotton though--no stretch, rough on the hands, heavy… Still if you’re making things that need to be tough--market bags, wash rags, hand towels, then it’s great. The price isn’t bad for the yardage, though of the 7 balls I used, 5 had knots in them.

I ran the bags trough the washing machine. They shrunk about an inch in height but grew in width. You can see the difference in one of the pictures where the light blue bag has been washed but the dark blue one has not.
