I followed the changes suggested by ninefingerknitter. I changed the first section to begin with a garter tab. This made section one symmetrical. Since section one was symmetrical there was no need for the strange first row of section 2.

I also followed ninefignerknitter’s idea of replacing the “ridges” section with another repeat of lace instead. I like the transition from the simple eyelets to the harder lace and back through the shawl.

Finally, I ended with a pico bind-off to give some weight and some frill to the edge.

I loved the DK weight used for this project. It makes the finished shawl feel so substantial and what could be better than a nice hefty merino silk blend around your neck.
