Notes

I’ve always thought that this pattern was adorable but I don’t know many people with kids so I’ve never made it. I’ve been waiting for a Knit Picks order to come in so I can work on some other projects and I decided to whip this up in the meantime. I’m using worsted weight yarn and bigger than called for needles so even though I’m following the “3 months” size directions it’s coming out 2-ish inches bigger than the pattern says. I didn’t really plan out where the stripes would fall but they are ending up perfectly I think. Not sure yet if I’ll do the ties or add buttons. The yarn is left over from my Montavilla Market Tote

9/27 the project is finished, I just need to go buy a button for it. I decided not to do the ties because I used every last scrap of yarn finishing and didn’t have enough. Instead I made a YO button hole and I’ll buy a cheap button next time in in JoAnns to finish it off. It hasn’t been blocked yet either so I can’t officially call it finished but the knitting is over.

10/12 OK OK OK I finally bought a really cute button and so now the project is officially finished.

5/19 My law school mentor is pregnant with a baby girl and I happened to have this in my closet all finished and needing a home, so now it does! Emily loved it. It’s way too big for a new baby, but maybe by the winter when the baby is about 6mo it will fit.
