Notes

Size 5 needles only used for ribbing. Did twisted 1x1 ribbing instead of normal 1x1. Did ribbing for 10 rows instead of 6. Did 4 repeats of the pattern to make it long enough to cover my ears.

This took 50.5g of yarn, so half a skein is just barely too little. If you are very conservative with your cast-on tail and end tail you might make it with half a skein.

Love Malabrigo! Like knitting with buttery wonderfulness.

Blocking makes a huge difference, if you like the “pineapple” look, don’t block it! If you like the smooth lace look blocking will bring it out. I think it looks great both ways, but I wanted to bring out the lace so I blocked it over a balloon. Using a balloon is my absolute new favoritest way to block hats. A bag of 12 balloons was less than $2 at target. Blow it up to 21 inches, put hat on it, voila. Don’t have to flip it over constantly to make sure it’s drying on both sides or move it around so it doesn’t dry with a crease… Definitely one of those “why didn’t I try this sooner” things.
