Notes

Started this last night after a rather large glass of wine. I’m using heavier yarn that only has about the same yardage so I’m hoping the pattern didn’t take a full skein of the original yarn… We’ll see. The yarn is heavenly soft. My first time working with 100% Alpaca.

I didn’t end up using a full three skeins. More like 2.5 which surprised me since the pattern is written for finer yarn. I think if I used fingering instead of sport weight yarn it would have come out very small, as it it’s barely what I would consider big enough. It was pretty lumpy pre-blocking so I really had to stretch to get it smoothed out.

Having never worked with 100% Alpaca before I didn’t know what to expect. It drapes well, but I find it very itchy so it’s probably a good thing that this will become a Christmas present for someone else (who is hopefully not as itch sensitive.)
